The CEO

Have you ever seen the TV show ~ Under Cover Boss?

It’s a show where the CEO of a company goes undercover and visits different locations within his company to see how things are really going. Looking for ways he/she can better the company.

By going under cover the CEO comes to meet the normal, every day people like you and me. People who work hard to provide for their family. People who have hopes and dreams and yet sometimes feel as though they will never come to pass.

However, when the CEO shows up ... Their lives are changed. Needs are met & desires are fulfilled.

Every time I watch the show I can't help but think of what can happen in a persons life when the CEO of the Universe shows up. His name? Jesus!

There are some things Jesus, the best CEO ever, wants us to know:

C ~ We can Come, Casting our Cares upon Him.

Jesus said, in Matthew 11:28 Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

The weight of this world can be quite heavy at times. However, Jesus wants to give us rest during the troubling times. When we are weary and burdened down with many things he wants to lighten our load. All we have to do is Come to him.

King David knew what troubling times were like. He said:

Psalm 116:3-5 The cords of death entangled me, the anguish of the grave came over me; I was overcome by distress and sorrow. 4 Then I called on the name of the Lord: “Lord, save me! 5 The Lord is gracious and righteous; our God is full of compassion.

The Apostle Peter says ... Cast all your cares upon him because he Cares for you.

Have you ever had days when you felt as though no one cared about what you were going through? I have.

I think about the story of Mary and Martha from the Bible. Picture this with me.

Jesus has come for a visit. While Martha is busy trying to get dinner on the table, Mary is setting at the feet of Jesus listening to His every word. Now, Martha was not thrilled that she was left to do all the work while Mary did nothing.

So, Martha comes bursting into the room where Jesus is and says, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!”  Can you see this happening?

Jesus remains calm and simply replies, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and upset about many things....” I believe Martha had herself so worked up in a tizzy that Jesus called her name twice just to get her attention.

Have you even been there?  Maybe you are right now. You might even be asking the same question Martha asked Jesus that day...
"Lord, Don’t You Care?"  Let me assure you ... He Cares!

You may be thinking:
“If He really cares then, WHY do I have to struggle so much?”
“If He really cares then, WHY is the world in such a mess?”

Jesus did not cause the struggles we face, nor did He cause the mess the world is in today.

Can I be so bold to say, "Most of the struggles we go through come because of choices we have made. Some come because of choices others have made and they effects us." Our world is in this mess because of choices men and women have made down through the centuries.

God gives us a free will, a choice as to what we want to do. We can choose to obey his commands and reap the blessings or we can choose to disobey his commands and reap judgement.

Jesus knew what it was like to have trouble in this earth. The Prophet Isaiah said, "He was despised and rejected by mankind, a man of suffering, and familiar with pain."

He knows the pain and suffering that comes into our lives because He lived it. And yet, he did not let that stop him from going to the cross and fulfilling what he came to earth to do.

When we Come and Cast our Cares on him, he wants us to...

E ~ Expect Him to do something.

Two blind men were setting along the side of the road. One day as Jesus was walking by they began calling (scream) to Jesus saying, "Jesus, Son of David, Have mercy on us!"

Jesus asked the men, "What do you want me to do for you?" They replied, "We want to see!" Jesus asked them, "Do you believe I am able to do this?" "Yes, Lord!", they answered. Jesus then touched their eyes and said, “According to Your Faith let it be done to you.” and their sight was restored.   Matthew 9

When you ask God for something in prayer do you really expect him to answer? I must confess there have been times I have prayed and deep down I really didn't expect anything to change.

The Apostle James made a pretty strong statement when he said...

James 1:6-8  But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. 7 That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. 8 Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do.

Jesus our CEO wants us to ...

O ~ Open our heart to him.

As the CEO, on the TV show, starts working with his employes it doesn't take long before they start opening up to him, telling them their hardships.

God wants us to be like that with Him.

King David said in Psalm 37:5-6  Open up before God, keep nothing back; he’ll do whatever needs to be done: He’ll validate your life in the clear light of day and stamp you with approval at high noon.   The Message Translation

The NIV translation puts it like this: Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him.

Unlike the CEO, on TV, who only helps four people in his/her company. Jesus has no limits on how many he helps.

Maybe you have prayed and nothing has happened. Don't give up! Keep calling out to God, like the blind men did. Tell Jesus what your hardships are and believe that he can provide and Expect Him to do something on your behalf.

The workers on the 'Undercover Boss' show when about their daily routine...day after day. But one day, totally oblivious as to what the day held for them; their lives were changes.

We can open our heart to a thousand people and tell our story over and over again with nothing changing.

But if we tell it to Jesus; he’s the One who truly cares and can change everything.

What are you in need of today? What impossible situation are you facing? What addiction are you trying to break free from? Tell it to Jesus!

Jesus said, "With men things are impossible, but not with God:
for with God all things are possible."

It’s not about religion!  It’s all about a Relationship! You can trust Jesus as your CEO!

One day you will wake up, go about your normal routine, unaware that your life is about to change forever. Your CEO will show up and you will never be the same!  This could be you day!

Feel free to e-mail me if you would like special prayer.
