Life Brighter Than Noonday

Can you fathom the mysteries of God? Can you probe the limits of the Almighty? They are higher than the heavens—what can you do? They are deeper than the depths of the grave—what can you know?  Their measure is longer than the earth and wider than the sea.

If he comes along and confines you in prison  and convenes a court, who can oppose him? Surely he recognizes deceitful men; and when he sees evil, does he not take note?  But a witless man can no more become wise than a wild donkey’s colt can be born a man.

Yet if you devote your heart to him and stretch out your hands to him, if you put away the sin that is in your hand and allow no evil to dwell in your tent, then you will lift up your face without shame; you will stand firm and without fear. You will surely forget your trouble, recalling it only as waters gone by. Life will be brighter than noonday, and darkness will become like morning, You will be secure, because there is hope; you will look about you and take your rest in safety. You will lie down, with no one to make you afraid, and many will court your favor. But the eyes of the wicked will fail, and escape will elude them; their hope will become a dying gasp.

My prayer for you today:

Many in our society and around the world face situations that can bring a sense of hopelessness. This feeling doesn't come over night, but comes through a process of troubling events.

One thing I have learned over the years is no matter how bad things seem to get there is always hope.

God tells us in the Holy Bible:
Ecclesiastes 9:4   Anyone who is among the living has hope.
Jeremiah 31:17   There is hope for your future.

The hope that comes through Jesus Christ is not just for our life journey on this Earth but for life after this journey ends. That’s Blessed Hope! A hope that is for every person. Receiving that hope is as easy as A,B,C.

A. Admit you are a sinner.

Romans 3:10,23   There is no one righteous, not even one ... for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

Romans 5:8   But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 6:23   For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Ask God to forgive you.
Romans 10:13   Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.

B. Believe in Jesus
(Put your trust in Him as your only hope of salvation.)

John 3:16  For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

John 14:6   Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."

Become a child of God by receiving Christ.
John 1:12  To all who receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.

Revelation 3:20   Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me.

C. Confess that Jesus is your Lord.

1 John 1:9   If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

Romans 10:9-10   If you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.  10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, I have done so many things in my life that have offended you. Sins that I am ashamed of. I have read these versed and You said, If I confess my sins you would forgive me. So, right now I confess I have sinned (Now name those to Jesus.) I ask you to forgive me. (With each one you name, ask Him to forgive you.) I invite you to come into my heart and help me, teach me how to live a life pleasing to You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Prayer is nothing more than talking to God like you would talk to your best friend. He wants you to get to know Him. He already knows everything about you and He loves you!

It’s All God’s Fault

“Why, O Lord, do you make us wander from your ways and harden our hearts so we do not revere you?  Isaiah 63:17

Many times I have read the story of the yo-yo relationship between God and the children of Israel. It’s a love/hate relationship. God loving his people enough to give them guidelines to follow and the people hating to be told what to do.

In this interesting verse, we find God’s chosen people pointing a finger at God.  They are blaming Him because they have walked away from His ways; blaming Him that their hearts have become hardened so they no longer revere Him.

People today are not much different than those living in Bible times. Recently, I was told of a man who came to our church.  He got out of his vehicle and began yelling and screaming at the church building.  As he stood there, shaking his fist at God, in great anger, he was saying what the people in Isaiah’s time said:  “God, it’s Your fault that I am in this mess.”  We live in a world filled with hatred, greed, selfishness, all kinds of evil and wickedness.  Many have bought into the lie that the more one has the happier they will be. In reality things do not bring happiness. With things come payments. With payments come working longer hours. Working longer hours brings on major stress and stress causes us to loose focus as to what really matters most, relationships! Relationship with God and with people.  We wonder why things are as bad as they are.

Years ago there was a  commercial that was showed a person shopping. On the person’s right shoulder stood a devil and on his left shoulder stood an angel. The devil was saying, “Go ahead get it, you know you want.” While the angel was telling the man what was best for him.

Could this be what is happening in our world today? God is telling us what is best for us while the devil is standing right there saying, “Oh, don’t listen Him. Go ahead and get it. Go ahead and do it. You know it’s going to make you feel good. You know you deserve it.”  When we give into that voice, we soon find ourselves getting further and further away from God. Then  things start falling apart, our lives are a mess and we blame God. The truth is, the devil is the one feeding the lies, leading us in a direction that would cause pain, destruction, heartache, disappointment, discouragement, and even death. He has the audacity to stand on our shoulder, point a finger at God and say, “It’s all His fault!”. Many believe him.

The book of James, found in the new testament, tells us: “When tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; but each one is tempted when, by his own evil desire, he is dragged away and enticed. Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.”  James 1:13-15

Many times I have heard others blame God for the mess they are in. In reality we all are where we are because of the choice we have made.

God has made it very clear in His Word the Holy Bible what we need to do to live in the blessings He has for us.

In the book of Jeremiah, found in the old testament, we read: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11

In the book of Deuteronomy, also found in the old testament, God says: “This day I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live.”  Deuteronomy 30:19

My personal life is not exempt from heartache, pain and disappointment, those things come with life. But when faced with them I have a choice to make. I can choose to blame God and turn from Him or I can choose to run to Him. I choose life every day so that I and my children may live.

Choosing life comes easier when one realizes that God has given us all we need to make the right choices.

In the book of Titus, found in the new testament, we read: “For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age,  while we wait for the blessed hope—the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good."  Titus 2:11-14

My prayer for you today:

Father God, I pray for those reading this blog. Help them to understand You did not bring about the bad things in their lives. Reveal to them today how much you really do love them and may they come to know You in a personal way. In Jesus name I pray, Amen

Recipe for Breakfast Bakes

 Found this recipe at:
https://www.facebook.com/pages/Pampered-Chef-with-Karen/325891627444272

Brown 1lb breakfast sausage in skillet (you can substitute crispy bacon, or diced deli ham). In a mixing bowl whisk together:

9 eggs
½ cup cheese [shredded] *Cheddar/Pepperjack/Colby/your choice
Sausage or ham or bacon
Cubed bread or croutons or frozen hash browns
¼ bell pepper, diced
2 green onions sliced

If using frozen hash browns put a small amount of the hash browns in the Brownie pan, then pour the egg mixture over it.

Bake at 350 for about 17-20 minutes. If using a dark pan you can drop the temp 25 degrees if you want.

These are perfect to freeze and reheat on those ‘busy’ mornings!

Don't you just love a good recipe?
Do you know that You are Dearly Loved by the Creator of the Universe? And the Creator wants to lavish His love upon you!
Here's a recipe that will last for all Eternity!

1.  Admit you are a sinner. A sinner is one who goes against God's law. No one is perfect. If we were we, would be here on this earth.
The Bible tells us..."There is no one righteous, not even one ... for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."  Romans 3:10,23.

Ask God to forgive you. He wants you to experience His love and forgiveness. There is no sin He will not forgive.
The Bible says..."Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." Romans 10:13

2.  Believe in Jesus (put your trust in Him) as your only hope of salvation, Because He is your only HOPE!
The Bible says..."For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16 (See John 14:6.)

Become a child of God by receiving Christ. Receiving Jesus is as simple as asking Him to forgive you of all your sins and then inviting Him to come and live in your heart.
The Bible says..."To all who receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God." John 1:12 (See Revelation 3:20.)

C. Confess that Jesus is your Lord. Confessing is as simple as telling someone the choice you have made.
The Bible says..."If you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." Romans 10:9 (See verse 10.)
